PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse squad (1-1) will host Delaware (2-0) in the Hawks' 2020 home opener this Tuesday, February 18. Opening face-off is set for 4:00 p.m. on Sweeney Field. Saint Joseph's is coming off of a loss at #2/#1/#1 Penn State on Saturday while Delaware, in the midst of a two-game, season-opening winning streak is ranked 20th in this week's
Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and has received votes in both the USILA Coaches Poll and
US Lacrosse Magazine Media Poll.
Fans attending the game can now purchase concessions at the official SJU concessions tent behind the Sweeney Field press box during the game.

Through two games, Saint Joseph's sophomore face-off specialist
Zach Cole is the nation's leader in ground balls per game (14.50) and ranks third in face-off winning percentage, winning three of every four attempts (75%, 36-of-48). Delaware has utilized six face-off specialists through two games to go a combined 45.5% from the X.
Led by redshirt freshman
Levi Anderson's six points (5g, 1a), SJU brings eight Hawks with at least two points into Tuesday's game. That Saint Joseph's offense will go up against Delaware goalkeeper Matt DeLuca (2-0) and his back line that ranks third nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 4.50 goals per game over its first two outings with a 14-8 home win over Mount St. Mary's and a 13-1 home win over NJIT.
Delaware's offense is powered by Charlie Kitchen (6g, 4a), who has a 34-game point scoring streak dating back to April 2017, and Mike Robinson (9g). Saint Joseph's senior goalkeeper
Mike Adler (1-1) and his defensive core will look to shut down the Blue Hens' top offensive duo.

Zach Cole went 12-of-20 from the X with a game-high seven ground balls while senior goalkeeper
Mike Adler (1-1) made 12 saves vs. 16 goals allowed in 54:13 as Penn State peppered the cage with 31 shots on goal.

On the offensive end of the field, Saint Joseph's returns 87.8 percent of its goal scoring production from a year ago. Returners with 10 or more goals from last spring include junior

The defensive end of the field will be led by a veteran group of seniors, as captain Mike Adler returns for his third year between the pipes, Tyler Makar returns for his third year of anchoring the close defensive group, and Liam Hare returns for his second year as SJU's top long stick midfielder.
Coming off of the most successful freshman season a Hawk has ever seen at the X, 2019 Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year and 2020 Inside Lacrosse NEC Preseason Team selection Zach Cole is set to enter his second year as SJU's primary face-off specialist.
