A highly competitive weekend awaits the Saint Joseph's softball team as the Hawks travel to the Fairfield Crabtree Invitational this Friday. Hosted by NC State, Saint Joseph's opens the tournament against the Wolfpack on Friday, with matchups against Indiana and Bucknell also set for the tournament.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS
• Saint Joseph's is coming off an opening weekend in which it went 2-3 at the Diamond 9 Citrus Blossom Classic.
• The Hawks picked up victories over Charleston Southern and Bethune-Cookman, with Saige Stutz and Ashley Stokes earning the respective wins.
• At the plate, rookie Erica Lawrence is hitting .400 with a team-best .625 slugging percentage.
• Starting outfielder Jancarla Herrera is second on the squad in average (.385), while Molly Kapala has driven in three and scored twice, while hitting .353.
• All five of the Hawks' pitchers saw action last weekend, with Stutz posting a team-best seven strike outs and 12.0 innings pitched.
SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK
• The host Wolfpack opens their own tournament fresh off a 3-1 record last weekend at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
• Standing at 6-4 overall, NC State has faced a daunting schedule to date that has featured nine contests against nationally ranked teams or ones receiving votes.
• Hitting .559 with 10 RBI and eight runs scored, Tatyana Forbes has helped pace an offense that's generating 5.1 runs per game.
• Devin Wallace and Sydney Nester have posted identical 4-2 records with Wallace starting the year with a 4.25 ERA to Nester's 4.60 ERA.
SCOUTING THE HOOSIERS
• Originally set to face the Hawks twice, Indiana will take on the Hawks on Sunday only as weather scrapped the opening meeting set for Friday.
• Indiana heads to Raleigh, North Carolina with a 3-6 record, but with two of those losses decided by one run.
• Taylor Lambert (.389 average) and Gabbi Jenkins (.385) lead a squad that is averaging just over three runs per game, while in the circle, Emily Goodin has pitched 42.1 innings of the team's 55.1 innings and is 3-4 with a 2.31 ERA.
SCOUTING THE BISON
• Bucknell enters the weekend with a 6-3 mark and winners of its last three contests.
• The Bison are batting .333 as a team with seven players posting an average of .300 or higher, led by Jess Horn's .458 mark.
• Raeanne Geffert stands at 4-2 with a team-best 1.20 ERA and 66 strikeouts over 41.0 innings of work, while Kayla Burton is 2-0 with a 1.58 ERA.
