Box Score PHILADELPHIA – Playing for a second straight night, the USciences volleyball team picked up a second straight victory with a sweep of Caldwell on Friday evening in Bobby Morgan Arena, winning all three sets by at least six points.
Led by Tori Wright's 16 kills on .364 hitting, the Devils set a new season-best in hitting percentage, .305, for the second night in a row, while holding the Cougars to just .137 hitting.
Jennifer Marrero set a new career-high with nine kills on .750 hitting, with fellow middle Kerrigan Clem adding eight on .471 hitting.
Marrero also led all players with five block assists, one shy of the program record in the 25-point era (since 2008), one night after breaking the program record for block assists in a four-set match with seven.
Bianca Galis tied a career-high with four block assists for the second night in a row, as USciences' 12 block assists as a team were a new season-best for a three-set match.
The Devils also set new season-bests for a three-set match in digs (46), kills (43), assists (40) and service aces (7).
Lauren Lim and Natalia Velez were both in double-figures in digs with 11 and 10 respectively, while Rachel Chan and Taylor Liu both set new season-highs with five.
Caelin Jaskot led all players with 22 assists, and Julia Vargo notably recorded her first collegiate service ace.
Angeli Roman Medina added 13 assists to move into ninth in program history with 718 for her career.
University of the Sciences takes the weekend off before looking for its third consecutive win at Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
