PHILADELPHIA – Playing for the first time in over 20 months, the UScinces women's basketball team did not skip a beat as it used a dominating 27-5 first quarter to ease past Saint Rose, 54-42, on Friday evening at Bobby Morgan Arena.

The Devils scored 24 of the first 26 points and would lead by double-digits for the final 34:29 of the contest.

Kendall Keyes and Harlem Jennings combined for the first 19 points, netting 13 and six respectively, with Jennings' layup 3:02 quickly making it 7-0.  

Following the first Golden Knights basket, Keyes scored the next seven points to begin a stretch of 17 unanswered that took just 3:55, concluding on another Jennings layup 1:15 ahead of the first break.

Isa Brenann beat the first quarter buzzer to make the score 27-5 after 10 minutes of play, and after back-to-back 3-pointers by Dayna Balasa, Juliana Gura made it a 30-point game, 35-5, just 1:58 into the second.

Keyes scored 13 of her game-high 17 in the opening 7:17, falling one point shy of her career-best.

Balasa had the game's second-highest point total with 13 on 5-of-8 shooting, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, in her collegiate debut.

Jennings fell two points shy of her first career double-double with a career-best 10 rebounds that led all players.

Gura also neared her first career double-double, with career-highs of six points, eight boards and two steals.

Shannon May and Jess Huber set new career-bests to lead all players too, with six assists and four steals, respectively.

Anna McTamney notably joined Balasa in making her collegiate debut, recording two rebounds.

University of the Sciences closes out its season-opening weekend hosting Saint Michael's tomorrow at 2 p.m.
