THE TIP-OFF
• Coming off a thrilling last-second victory over Maryland Eastern Shore, Saint Joseph's returns to action on Saturday as the Hawks host Mount St. Mary's at 1 p.m.
• Saturday's matchup marks the 12th meeting between the Hawks and Mountaineers.
• Saint Joseph's earned its first-ever program victory as it topped Mount St. Mary's, 31-13, on December 22, 1909.
• With Tuesday's win over UMES, the Hawks improved to 84-27 in season-opening contests, and 2-1 under head coach Billy Lange.
• Taylor Funk finished with a game-high 22 points versus UMES, including the game-winning three-pointer with six seconds to play.
• Funk matched his career-high with six three-pointers on Tuesday as he went 8-13 from the floor, and 6-11 from distance.
• Jordan Hall finished a rebound shy of his second career triple-double as he filled the stat sheet with 11 points, a game-high 11 assists, and nine rebounds.
• Making his St. Joe's debut, graduate transfer Ejike Obinna scored 13 points versus Maryland Eastern Shore, one point shy of his career-high.
• Rookies Kacper Klaczek and Erik Reynolds II earned starting roles in their collegiate debuts on Tuesday.
• Klaczek finished with three points, three rebounds and a steal in 19 minutes of playing time.
• Reynolds, who saw 22 minutes of action, added four points, two rebounds and two assists.
• Saint Joseph's has won three consecutive games at Hagan Arena dating back to last season.
• Tuesday marked the first time in 612 days that the Hawks played in front of fans at Hagan Arena.

Saint Joseph's and Mount St. Mary's renews its rivalry as the teams meet for the first time since the 1977-78 season. The Hawks have won nine straight and hold a 10-1 edge in the all-time series that dates back to St. Joe's first season.
• Saint Joseph's topped Mount St. Mary's, 31-13, in its inaugural season for the program's first ever victory on December 22, 1909.
• Mount St. Mary's won the second matchup between the two squads, 43-30, in 1922.
• The Hawks have won nine straight since, including an 82-67 victory at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse in the last meeting on January 9, 1978.
FUNK CLIMBS ALL-TIME SCORING LIST
Entering the 2021-22 season with 1,069Â points to his, Taylor Funk has started climbing Saint Joseph's all-time scoring leader list as the Lancaster, Pennsylvania native enters Saturday with 1,091 career points, just six points shy of Isaiah Miles '16 (1,097 points)Â for 43rd all-time, and within striking distance of Tom Duff '66 (1,107 points) for 42nd place.
HAWKS INK WINBORNE
Saint Joseph's head coach Billy Lange announced on Friday that guard Christian Winborne (Baltimore, Md./Gilman School) has signed a national letter of intent to attend Saint Joseph's University in the fall of 2022. A 6-foot-2 guard, Winborne is coming off a tremendous junior season at the Gilman School in which he averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game. The top-ranked point guard in Maryland, and 35th ranked point guard nationally by 247 Sports, Winborne also competed for Will Barton's Team Thrill on the UAA circuit. Along with being a standout student-athlete on the court, Winborne has excelled in the classroom as the honor roll student boasts a 4.0 grade point average.
