THE TIP-OFF
• Saint Joseph's puts its two-game win streak on the line this Wednesday as the Hawks host reigning CAA champion Drexel at 7 p.m.
• The Hawks are coming off a convincing 80-60 victory over NEC Champion Mount St. Mary's on Saturday.
• Ejike Obinna had a career-high 16 points, and 15 rebounds in Saturday's win.
• Along with career-highs in scoring and rebounds, Obinna also posted his first career double-double.
• For the second straight game, Taylor Funk led St. Joe's in scoring as he finished with a game-high 18 points.
• Over the opening two games, Funk has shot 63.6 percent (14-of-22) from the floor, and 55.6 percent (10-18) from three-point range.
• Cameron Brown added 17 points off the bench, going 5-of-9 from the floor and 3-of-5 from behind the arc.
• Rookie Erik Reynolds II recorded his first double-digit scoring performance versus Mount St. Mary's as he finished the game with 13 points.
• Wednesday marks the third of four consecutive home games for the Hawks, their most to open a season since 1973-74 (five games).
• Saint Joseph's is looking to avenge last year's 81-77 loss to the Dragons at the Daskalakis Center.
• The Hawks are currently averaging 10.0 three-pointers per game, and shooting 40.8 percent from distance.

One of the longest running rivalries in St. Joe's history, the Hawks and Drexel renew their rivalry for the 59th time on Wednesday.
• Drexel held off a late run by the Hawks last December to top Saint Joseph's, 81-77.
• The Hawks have won nine straight at home versus Drexel dating back to the 1977-78 season.

FUNK CLIMBS ALL-TIME SCORING LIST
Entering the 2021-22 season with 1,069 points to his, Taylor Funk has started climbing Saint Joseph's all-time scoring leader list as the Lancaster, Pennsylvania native enters Wednesday with 1,109 career points, 13 points shy of Chet Stachitas '06 (1,122 points) for 41st all-time and 20 points shy of Billy Oakes '66 (1,129 points) for 40th place. 

HAWKS INK WINBORNE AND FLEMING
Saint Joseph's head coach Billy Lange announced guard Christian Winborne (Baltimore, Md./Gilman School) and forward Rasheer Fleming (Camden, N.J./Camden) have signed a national letters of intent to attend Saint Joseph's University in the fall of 2022. A 6-foot-2 guard, Winborne is coming off a tremendous junior season at the Gilman School in which he averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game. The top-ranked point guard in Maryland, and 35th ranked point guard nationally by 247 Sports, Winborne also competed for Will Barton's Team Thrill on the UAA circuit. Along with being a standout student-athlete on the court, Winborne has excelled in the classroom as the honor roll student boasts a 4.0 grade point average. A 6-foot-9 forward, Fleming enters his senior year with nationally-ranked Camden High School having averaged 9.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game over 67 career contests. As a sophomore, Fleming averaged 13.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game, before playing in a COVID-shortened season last year. Additionally, he has competed on the prestigious Nike EYBL circuit with the New Jersey Scholars.

FUNK EARNS WEEKLY HONORS
Leading the Hawks to a 2-0 record, while averaging 20.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 assist per game, Saint Joseph's Taylor Funk has been named Big 5 Player of the Week, and Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week, organization officials announced on Monday. Funk opened the year with a hot hand as the redshirt senior finished with a game-high 22 points, including the game-winning three-pointer with six seconds to play, to lead the Hawks to a 69-67 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday. He followed with a game-high 18 points, and added six rebounds, and four assists in St. Joe's 80-60 win over reigning NEC champion Mount St. Mary's on Saturday.
