HOW IT HAPPENED
• Katie Whelan opened the scoring for Hofstra (1-0) before

• Saint Joseph's (0-1) would rip off four of the last five goals of the period to claw back within one at halftime. Midway through the frame,
Stephanie Kelly got on the board before
Julia Pash scored with 11:11 on the clock to cut the deficit to two. After Arianna Esposito nabbed her second of the day to break up the run,
Lauren Figura and
Penny Green tallied just 40 seconds apart to make it a 6-5 game.
• Shortly after the break, the Hawks took their first lead of the day.
