NEWARK, Del. – The University of the Sciences golf team beat Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Felician at the GBC Fall Invitational held at Deerfield Country Club on Monday.
The Devils placed third in the field of four behind fellow CACC members Chestnut Hill and Goldey-Beacom, that latter of which won the event.
University of the Sciences was six shots behind the second-place Griffins, and 23 ahead of the Golden Falcons, with a team total of 326, which fell just one stroke shy of the program's recorded (since Fall 2009) top-10 team rounds.
Freshman Thomas Larkin led the Devils with a 78 to place tied for sixth in the field of 20, tying for the lead in par-4 scoring at +2. His two birdies were tied for the second most.
Fellow freshman Joseph Kepic also placed in the top-half of the field with an 80, tying for the lead with 11 pars and finishing tied for fifth in par-3 scoring at +2.
Freshman Adam Chen carded an 83 to finish just one position outside the top-half of the field, tying for fourth with 10 pars.
Matthew McCaffrey rounded out USciences' total with an 85, tying for seventh in par-3 scoring at +3, while Tyler Blake shot a 92.
University of the Sciences makes a quick turnaround, facing the aforementioned Chestnut Hill as well as Jefferson in a tri-match tomorrow at Middletown Country Club.
