LANGHONRE, Pa. – Facing city rivals Chestnut Hill and Jefferson in its final tune-up for next week's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship, the USciences golf team defeated the Rams to place second in the tri-match held at Middletown Country Club.
The Devils' team round of 323 was 18 strokes lower than Jefferson, and is now tied for the seventh-lowest team round in recorded program history (Since Fall 2009).
Freshman Thomas Larkin led the way with a second straight 78 to tie for fourth in the field of 15, finishing tied for second in par-5 scoring (E), tied for third in par-4 scoring (+5) and tied for fourth in birdies (2).
Tyler Blake and Joseph Kepic shot matching 79s to also place in the top-half of the field in a tie for sixth.
Blake's 79 was his season-best, as he led the entire field with nine pars while also matching Larkin in par-5 scoring.
Kepic was E in par-5 scoring as well, while also sinking two birdies and tying for fourth in par-3 scoring (+2).
Matthew McCaffrey and Andrew Rush rounded out USciences' day with an 87 and 89, respectfully.
Next week's CACC Championship is scheduled for Oct. 4-5 at Watertown Golf Club in Watertown, Conn.
