ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S:
  • Lauren Figura is SJU's leading returning scorer, having led the squad and finishing third in the Atlantic 10 with 46 goals a season ago and finishing second with 54 points. • Riley Evans, Emma O'Neill, and Sophia Kolkka tallied 15 goals apiece in 2021 and return to the lineup this season as well.
  • On the defensive end, Taylor Newman-Farr returns after ranking second on the team in caused turnovers and fifth in ground balls.
  • Saint Joseph's welcomed six transfer student-athletes for the 2022 season: Kate Antonelli (George Mason), Jorden Concordia (Syracuse), Sydney Foster (Loyola), Rilea Fusco (Syracuse), Lauren Gray (Syracuse), and Maddi Ota (Colorado), on top of 10 freshmen for a total of 16 newcomers.
  • Head coach Alex Kahoe, and assistant coaches Julia Braig, and Caroline Steele are all Maryland grads.
ABOUT MARYLAND:
  • Maryland is ranked sixth nationally in the preseason poll after a 10-7 season last year. The Terrapins lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to No. 7 Duke, 13-12.
  • This year's team is headlined by returning IWLCA All-Americans Grace Griffin and Hannah Leubecker, both earning third-team honors in 2021.
