Beni Earns Gold in Mile to Lead Men's Track and Field at Princeton Indoor Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Saint Joseph's men's track and field team closed out the regular season of competition at the Princeton Indoor Invitational hosted at Princeton's Jadwin Gymnasium. Of note Jadwin Gymnasium houses a flat track and for most events there is a conversion to a banked track time. 

TRACK EVENTS: 
  • Junior Ryne Beni won the mile run in a time of 4:35.21. This time marks a collegiate PR in the event.
  • Sophomore Lleyton Winslow grabbed second in the 800 meters recording a time of 1:59.55.
  • The duo of freshman Jake Carrubba and sophomore Kevin Dennin placed sixth (53.25) and seventh (53.52), respectively, in the 400 meters.
  • In the 1,000 meters, sophomore Tommy Johnson ran a time of 2:36.53. Senior Matthew D'Auria grabbed fourth in a time of 2:47.26.
UP NEXT: 
Next weekend the Hawks will head down to Fairfax, Va. to compete in the Atlantic 10 indoor Track and Field Championships hosted at the George Mason Field House. The meet will run from Feb. 26-27.
