Saint Joseph's men's track and field seniors Luke Noss and Anthony Gargani and junior Michael Glavin have earned academic honors from multiple organizations.  Noss was tabbed for the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Team, while all three claimed CSC Academic All-District Team honors.

Noss, a risk management and insurance major from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, collected a pair of medals at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships, taking second in the 500m and third in the 4x400m.  He also placed fifth in the 500m at the IC4A Indoor Championships, where he was also part of the 4x400m relay squad that took gold; the 4x400m also ran in the prestigious Championship of America race at the Penn Relays.

Gargani was an Atlantic 10 Postgraduate Scholarship recipient this spring.  The biology major out of Lansdale, Pa., ran a personal best in the 8K at the Paul Short Run during cross country season before finishing in the top 30 at the IC4A Championship.  He also competed for the Hawks in the 5,000m at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships and in the 10,000m at the Outdoor Championships, earning top-16 finishes in both races.

Glavin medaled at both Atlantic 10 Championships this year, running on the third-place DMR squad indoors before taking gold in the 5000m at the Outdoor Championships.  He also won the mile race at the IC4A Indoor Championships and turned in personal bests in the 1000m and 3000m during indoor season and the 1500m and 5000m outdoors before competing as part of the DMR squad at the Penn Relays.

The Academic All-Area Team is voted upon by athletic communications offices of the 30 schools in the Philadelphia region; eligible student-athletes must be in at least their second year at their institution and maintain a 3.30 cumulative grade point average.  To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, awarded by College Sports Communicators, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.50 cumulative GPA and reach certain regional-ranking benchmarks.
