FAIRFAX, Va. – The Saint Joseph's men's track and field team wrapped up competition at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships with an impressive performance in the finals, highlighted by a gold-medal finish and multiple podium efforts across a strong and competitive field.
Saint Joseph's finished seventh out of 12 teams in the field with 49 points; Rhode Island claimed the team title with 250.5 points.
TRACK EVENTS
The Hawks were led by a dominant performance in the 5000m final, where Michael Glavin captured gold with a time of 14:26.78 to headline Saint Joseph's efforts. Gavin Mogck followed with a ninth-place finish in 14:39.07, while Brendan Hefferan placed 14th in 14:56.95 and Evan McGregor crossed in 23rd at 15:25.20.
In the 800m final, Cristian Cruz earned a spot on the podium with a third-place finish, clocking in at 1:54.19 to take home bronze for the Hawks.
Saint Joseph's also found success in the relays, as the 4x400m team of Alex Garcia, Logan Maloney, Layton Holt, and Benjamin Henry secured a bronze-medal finish, placing third overall with a time of 3:11.75.
In the 400m final, Logan Maloney led the way with a fourth-place finish and a personal-best time of 47.31, while Benjamin Henry followed closely behind in fifth at 47.42. Henry also added a fourth-place finish in the 200m final, crossing in 21.58.
The 4x100m relay team of Logan Henry, Benjamin Henry, Logan Maloney, and Jeraell Moore turned in a strong performance, finishing fourth overall with a time of 40.79.
In the 400m hurdles final, Brody Wyatt represented the Hawks with a seventh-place finish, recording a time of 56.24.
The 4x800m relay team of Chris Manzo, Matt Hoffman, Cristian Cruz, and Will Rau added a fourth-place finish to round out the Hawks' performances, crossing the line in 7:32.04.
