PHILADELPHIA – After three-consecutive games at home to begin its season, the Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team heads to Annapolis, Md. to take on the Navy Mids at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks are looking to rebound from their loss to No. 20 Temple last Saturday, while Navy hopes to continue its undefeated season after they defeated Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday.
 
ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S:
  • An enormous first quarter from Temple proved to be the difference for the Owls on Saturday as they prevailed over the Hawks, 15-1l.
  • Sophia Kolkka led the Hawks in scoring against TU, tallying three of the team's 11 goals.
  • Jordan Concordia has made 31 saves in the team's first three games on Hawk Hill, saving 40.3% of the shots she has faced.
  • Senior attacker Lauren Figura remains the team's leader in goals scored this season with seven. Sydney Foster, Riley Fusco, and Emma O'Neill all share second place, scoring four goals each.
  • Midfielder Riley Delaney leads the team in ground balls, picking up six to go along with three caused turnovers.
  • Sophia Kolkka paces the Crimson & Gray with 14 draw controls.
ABOUT NAVY:
  • Navy could not have asked for a better start to their 2022 season. The team is looking to get off to it's first 5-0 start since 2014. Most recently, the team traveled to Mount St. Mary's, winning by a score of 13-11.
  • The team has outscored their opponents in their first four games by a combined 29 goals.
  • Sophomore Leelee Denton leads the team on the attack, scoring 12 goals so far this season. The Nashville, Tenn.  native is aided on attack by senior Raegan Roelofs and freshman Lola Leone, who both have scored six goals apiece.
  • Sophomore Lindsay Beardmore leads the team in caused turnovers this season. The Annapolis, Md. native has forced nine turnovers on top of an already impressive eight points.
  • Goalie Jo Torres has started in all four of the contests, but three different goalies have seen action this season for the Naval Academy. Torres has begun the season 4-0, totaling 26 saves and obtaining a .456 save percentage.
MATCHUP NOTES:
  • Saint Joseph's and Navy have only played each other three times in the programs' histories. The Mids are 3-0 against the Hawks. Most recently, in 2020, Navy defeated the Hawks 19-12 at Sweeney Field.
