Box Score 2 PHILADELPHIA – Trailing 6-0 in game one, the USciences baseball team brought the potential tying run to the on-deck circle in the bottom of seventh before eventually falling short in a 6-3 game one loss to regionally-ranked West Chester on Sunday afternoon at Father Judge High School.
The Rams (6-0) would go on to win game two 16-0.
Game One
University of the Sciences had an opportunity to erase the six-run deficit thanks to the relief performance of Adam Estrada, who did not surrender a hit in his three innings of work in his second career pitching appearance.
Trailing 6-0 after a three-run top of the third, Joe Duffy's two-out walk led to two runs after back-to-back RBI base-hits by Eddie Parry and Evan Sinclair.
John McCrane worked a 1-2-3 frame in the top of the fourth, but the Devils could not take advantage of a leadoff walk in the bottom-half.
Estrada would allow just one runner to reach scoring positions in his three frames, but USciences could not threaten until the seventh.
Hunter Parish led off with a single but after an error brought the potential tying run to the on-deck circle, a double-play led to the Devils only scoring once.
Frank Pollock was one of the two players on either team to reach base twice after finishing 1-for-2 with a walk, as both teams had just four hits.
With four strikeouts, McCrane notably moved into sixth in program history with 143 for his career.
Duffy also made his way up the program's record book as he is now tied for 10th all-time with 21 career stolen bases.
Game Two
West Chester scored five in the first en route to leading throughout.
Vince Cammisa notably recorded his first collegiate hit.
