Box Score NEW CASTLE, Del. – The USciences women's basketball team clinched its 11th consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament appearance with a 71-34 win at Wilmington on Wednesday evening.
The Devils are one of four teams in the league with an active streak of at least 11 straight CACC Tournament appearances.
University of the Sciences scored the first nine points and did not trail, holding leads of 25-8 following the first quarter, 43-14 at halftime and 60-19 after three periods.
The Devils (16-3, 11-2) limited the Wildcats to just 26.4 percent shooting (14-of-53) to hold their fifth opponent under 40 points this season.
Jess Huber scored 14 of her game-high 21 points in the first quarter, making 5-of-9 field goals, 5-of-8 3-pointers and 6-of-7 free throws in just 20 minutes.
The graduate student also tied Shannon May with a game-high four assists.
Dayna Balasa had the game's second-highest point total with a season-best 14 points in just 12 minutes off the bench, making 5-of-6 field goals and 4-of-5 triples.
The freshman tied May with a game-high three steals, which were season-bests for both.
Kendall Keyes was also in double-figures with 10 points, while Anna McTamney added nine points and a team-high six rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench.
Isla Brennan (five), Riley Vingsen (four) and Shayla Johnson (three) all tied or set a career-best in boards, with VIngsen also tying a career-best with four points.
University of the Sciences continues its three-game road-trip at Post this Saturday at 1 p.m.
