PHILADELPHIA – After heading on the road for its first game of the season, Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse returns home to take on Villanova Wednesday. First draw is scheduled for 4 p.m. from Sweeney Field with the game streaming nationally on ESPN+ and internationally through the Atlantic 10.
 
ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S:
  • Lisa Ross and Lauren Figura scored three goals apiece to lead the Hawks to a 10-9 win over Navy.
  • Jordan Concordia saved eighteen shots and finished with a save percentage of 66.7% to earn the close win, en route to being named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week.
  • Figura and Sydney Foster are the team's two leading goalscorers, scoring 10 and six, respectively.
  • Riley Delaney continues to lead the team in caused turnovers, after causing three against Navy to bring her total to six.
  • Concordia has made 49 saves in her first four games as a Hawk, averaging 12.25 a contest.
  • Ross has gotten off to a very balanced offensive effort this season, scoring five goals and assisting on five others for 10 points.
ABOUT VILLANOVA:
  • The Wildcats have gotten 31 of their 41 goals from four players, including seniors Libby McKenna, Caroline Curnal, Alexis Tsahalis, as well as junior Addie Fischer.
  • Fairfield, Conn. native Libby McKenna leads that group with nine goals.
  • Defender Molly Dunphey leads the team in caused turnovers with seven.
  • Goalkeeper Alexa Moro has made 40 saves thus far to go along with a 46% save percentage. The Westport, Conn. native also leads the team in ground balls with 14.
  • Head coach Jill Batcheller is in her first season as the head coach of the Wildcats after three seasons in the same role at Drexel. Batcheller was a former assistant at St. Joe's from 2008-10. 
MATCHUP NOTES:
  • Saint Joseph's and Villanova have played 10 times with the first matchup coming in  2006. Last season, the Hawks extended their series lead to 6-4 after a 16-9 victory at Villanova.
