Men’s Lacrosse Hosts Towson for Final Game Before NEC Play; Game Moved to Friday

PHILADELPHIA –
Saint Joseph's will welcome Towson to Sweeney Field on Friday for an afternoon matchup against the Tigers. Opening faceoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. with the game airing on NEC Front Row. Originally, the game was slated for Saturday at 1 p.m., but due to potential inclement weather, it was moved to Friday.
 
ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S:
  • The Hawks are 4-2 after falling in a mid-week tilt at Drexel this past Tuesday.  
  • Five Hawks have registered 16 points or better this season, led by Matt Bohmer with 27.
  • Bohmer has 19 goals and eight assists, both lead the team with his assists tied for a team high with Levi Anderson.
  • Tucker Brown is second overall with 18 points on 12 scores and six assists.
  • Anderson is third with 17 points, followed by Carter Page and Austin Strazzulla with 16 each.
  • Page is having an exceptional sophomore season. The Peterborough, Ontario native has more than tripled his output from his rookie campaign.
  • Zach Cole leads the nation in face-off winning percentage at .734 and also tops the country in ground balls per game at 13.00. The Third Team Preseason All-America honoree has also tallied two scores.
  • Patrick Clemens, the reigning NEC Defensive Player of the Week, leads the team with seven caused turnovers the season, with five coming in the game against Monmouth.
  • Tucker Almany (4-2) has played every minute in cage this season with 66 saves on a .478 percentage.
ABOUT TOWSON:
  • The Tigers are 3-3 on the season and have taken their past two matchups.
  • James Acanzato leads the team with 24 points with a well-rounded effort of 11 goals and 13 assts. He sits atop the squad in helpers.
  • Kyle Berkeley is the Tigers only other scorer at or above 20 points. He's scored 12 times and assisted on eight.
  • Nick DeMaio is leading Towson with 17 goals and adds a pair of assists.
  • Towson has played three different goalkeepers this season with Shane Brennan starting all six contests. Brennan recorded 71 saves with a .490 percentage and 74 goals allowed.
