FAIRFAX, Va. – The Saint Joseph's men's track and field team wrapped up a busy weekend of competition with the sprinters, jumpers, and middle-distance runners competing at the George Mason Spring Invitational on Saturday.
TRACK EVENTS:
- Senior Michael Welde took fourth overall in the 100m dash running a time of 11.06.
- For the second week in a row, rookie Jack Carrubba dropped time off his 400m PR. Carrbubba clocked a time of 51.89 to win his respective heat of this event.
- Senior Michael Szwed was the top finisher for the Crimson & Gray recording a time of 1:54.49 for 18th out of a field of 52. The time also stands as a season best for Szwed.
- Senior Kyle Magee came away with the win the 400m hurdles in a time of 53.42. The time currently ranks him fourth in the A-10.
- The 4x400m relay of sophomore Eric Ford, senior Kris Edobi, freshman Michael Brittingham, and Magee handily claimed gold in a time of 3:14.54. The time currently ranks them second overall in the conference.
FIELD EVENTS:
- Sophomore Patrick Fehm continued to shine for the SJU jumps crew. In the high jump, Fehm took second with a best overall jump of 2.04m. This mark also ranks Fehm second overall in the Atlantic 10.
UP NEXT:
St. Joe's will return to action next week to compete in the two-day Larry Ellis Invitational hosted at Princeton University's Weaver Stadium. The meet will run from April 15 through April 16.
