ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team will be seeded second for this week's Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship, which is set to begin on Thursday at the USTA National Campus.
It is the highest seed the Hawks have earned in program history and comes on the back of a 13-3 regular season record, including a 3-0 mark against conference opponents.
Saint Joseph's received a bye to the quarterfinals and will open play on Friday against the winner of Thursday's First Round matchup between seventh-seeded Duquesne and 10
th-seeded Fordham. SJU earned a 5-2 win over Duquesne on April 8, while a previously-scheduled match with Fordham was postponed and not rescheduled.
The Hawks have won five matches in a row by a combined score of 28-5 to bring some momentum into the Championship. Last time out, SJU shut out USciences, 7-0, on Saturday.
Early rounds of the Championships will be streamed through the USTA's website. The finals will be carried on ESPN+ domestically and the Atlantic 10 Network internationally.
