AMHERST, Mass. – Third-seeded Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse begins Atlantic 10 Championship play as the Hawks take on sixth-seeded George Washington on Thursday at 2 p.m. The two teams will have played each other two weeks prior to the day of this matchup with the Hawks emerging victorious, 18-8.
 
ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S:
  • St. Joe's has won eight of its last 10 games entering postseason play after a 22-10 beatdown of La Salle on Senior Day.
  • Senior Lauren Figura, the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year, is in the midst of a historic season as she became the team's single season all-time goals leader on Saturday, scoring three against La Salle to bring her total to 58. She also landed on the First Team All-Conference and All-Academic.
  • Junior Lisa Ross leads the team with 21 assists, and trails only Figura in points, sitting at 39. 
  • Senior midfielder Sophia Kolkka continues a very well-rounded season, causing 26 turnovers, scoring 16 goals, and snagging 75 draw controls to land herself on the Second Team All-Conference.
  • Kolkka is joined on the Second Team by Riley Evans. Evans tallied 25 goals, five assists, and 75 draw controls to put herself second in league games with 6.00 draw controls per game.
  • Sophomore goalie Jorden Concordia is 11-6 in her first season on Hawk Hill. The sophomore has made 161 saves and holds a .450 save percentage en route to a Second Team All-Conference and All-Rookie Team selection.
ABOUT GEORGE WASHINGTON:
  • After a dramatic Senior Day win against VCU, the Colonials snuck into the postseason as the league's sixth and final seed.
  • Junior Katelyn Walker leads the team's balanced goalscoring efforts as the British Columbia native has tallied 20.
  • Senior Tori Hampton leads the team in points, scoring 18 and assisting on 10 others.
  • Senior Megan Patrick is 2-7 on the season, compiling 181 saves with a .484 save percentage.
  • Junior Amber Germer and senior Kendall Lambert have caused problems for opposing offenses, causing 17 turnovers each.
  • Assistant coach Hayley Sabol played for St. Joe's from 2016-19.
