PHILADELPHIA- The Saint Joseph's women's track and field team returned to competing at the Penn Relays after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic on Friday. The Hawks had an impressive showing on day one with strong performances in both the relays and individual events.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
  • The 4x100m relay of senior Ginika Nkwonta, sophomore Sydney Rose, freshman Judith Walker, and junior Jacki Harding clocked a time of 48.21 to place third overall. This time also qualifies them for tomorrow's final in this event.
  • The SMR relay claimed third overall in the college section. The relay was made up of Harding, Rose, junior Tori Kestel, and junior Olivia Wojtowicz.
  • Gradute student Kassidy Mulryne placed 16th out of a field of 26 in the high jump. Her best jump of 1.66m ties her PR for this event.
UP NEXT:
The Hawks return to action for the final day of Penn Relays on Saturday. For those not competing in the Penn Relays they will head to Bethlehem, Pa. to compete in the Lehigh Covert Classic.
