Men's Track and Field Concludes Outdoor Regular Season

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's track and field team concluded its regular season competition at the second day of the Penn Relays and at the Lehigh Carol and John Covert Classic on Saturday. 
 
PENN RELAYS:
  • In the college men's 4x800m relay, the team of senior Michael Szwed, sophomore Owen Moelter, sophomore Gavin Campbell, and sophomore Jayden Greene crossed the line in a time of 7:38.17. The time satisfies the IC4A standard for this event and currently ranks them second in the Atlantic 10. Moelter's split of 1:52.30 and Campbell's split of 1:52.64 now stand as the duo's personal best times.
  • In an electrifying race, the Hawks 4x400m relay of rookie Michael Brittingham, senior Kyle Magee, sophomore Eric Ford, and senior Michael Welde took third overall in the College Men's 4x400m final. Anchored by Welde's monster split of 46.05, the Hawks clocked a time of 3:10.13, which now ranks them first overall in the Atlantic 10.
LEHIGH CAROL AND JOHN COVERT CLASSIC:
  • Sophomore Vincent Twomey took third overall in the 1,500m with a time of 4:01.70.
  • In the 800m, Sean Murphy claimed sixth overall in a time of 1:57.40.
  • Rookie Jake Carrubba and sophomore Kevin Dennin placed fifth and sixth overall in the 400m with a time of 52.02 and 52.31, respectively.  
UP NEXT:
Championship season begins for the Hawks, who will travel to Richmond, Va. to compete in the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships this week. The competition will run from Saturday, May 7 through Sunday, May 8.
