PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse returns to action this weekend with a road and home split as the Hawks continue Atlantic 10 play. St. Joe's begins the two-game stretch with a 1 p.m. first draw at George Mason on Friday before returning to Sweeney Field to host VCU on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both games will be streamed nationally on ESPN+.
 
ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S:
  • SJU has won four of its last five games, including three of four league contests for a 3-1 start to conference play.
  • Lauren Figura is leading the Atlantic 10 in goals (40) and goals per game (3.33). Those numbers rank her 21st and 22nd, respectively, in the nation. Figura adds five assists for a team-best 45 points.
  • Lisa Ross is having a break out season in which she sits second on the team with 27 points. Her 12 goals are tied for fourth best overall and her 15 assists lead all players.
  • Rilea Fusco transferred to SJU from Syracuse and has made her mark on the field. She is third on the squad with 20 points on 12 scores and eight helpers.
  • Jorden Concordia (7-5) has started all 12 games for the Hawks in cage. She's made 120 saves, which ranks 10th nationally and third in the conference. She holds a .438 save percentage and a 13.00 goals against average.
ABOUT GEORGE MASON:
  • Mason is 2-9 overall and 1-3 in league play after falling in five of the past six games.
  • Four Patriots have posted at least 20 points this season, led by Ioanna Mantzouratos with 31 on 20 scores and 11 assists.
  • Shannon Tuozzo (20G, 8A), Olivia O'Brien (22G, 4A), and Lauren Distad (18G, 5A) round out the cohort.
  • Meghan Deehan (1-6) has started six of 10 games played this season, including the past four. She's made 69 saves on a .385 save percentage and allows 16.10 goals against on average.
ABOUT VCU:
  • The Rams are 6-6, 2-2 A-10 entering Friday when they take on Richmond before heading to Philadelphia on Sunday.
  • Kelsey McDonnell (27G, 4A), Juliana George (20G, 8A), and Abby Osmeyer (15G, 5A) are the only Rams above 20 points this season.
  • Meghna Dawar (6-6) has started all 12 games in net. She has a league-leading 144 saves with a .518 save percentage and a 11.73 goals against average.
