STONY BROOK, N.Y. – #19/23 Saint Joseph's is set to take on #12/11 Rutgers in the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament game on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Stony Brook University. The game will stream on ESPN+.
 
ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S:
  • The Atlantic 10 Champion Hawks are in the midst of a historic season. The group's 14 wins are the most in a season in program history.
  • SJU defeated ranked opponents in back-to-back games to claim the Atlantic 10 Championship as the squads only title.
  • Lauren Figura leads the team offensively and is fifth in the nation with 71 goals. Her 71 goals are the most in a single season by any Hawk and she's the third-straight to win Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year. She was named IWLCA Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team on Thursday.
  • Seven Hawks in total have recorded at least 25 points this season.
  • Lisa Ross is second on the squad with 46 points and adds a team best 23 assists.
  • Sophia Kolkka and Riley Evans have become keys to the Hawks' success in the midfield. The duo both landed on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second-Team and account for 62% of SJU's draw controls this season.
  • In her first season playing, Jorden Concordia (14-6) has been a staple for the Hawks in net. She ranks sixth nationally in saves and is second in single-season saves in program history.
ABOUT RUTGERS:
  • Rutgers received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after falling to Maryland in the Big Ten title game, 18-8.
  • The Scarlet Knights are led by fourth-year head coach Melissa Lehman, who previously served as an assistant at Penn.
  • Rutgers has four student-athletes with at least 50 points this season, led by Tayalyn Naslonski with 79.
  • Cassidy Spilis posts a team-high 65 goals and former Hawk Stephanie Kelly leads the group with 39 assists.
  • Sophia Cardello (13-4) has started all 19 games in cage for the Scarlet Knights. She posts a 10.60 goals against average, 151 saves, and a .451 save percentage.
