Men's Track and Field Concludes Outdoor Season With a Sixth Place Finish at the IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.- The Saint Joseph's men's track and field team concluded its season at the 2022 IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a sixth place finish out of 36 teams.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES SATURDAY
  • Recording a time of 3:53.17, senior Zach Smith ended his career for the Crimson and Gray with a two second PR in the 1,500m.
  • Michael Szwed clocked a 1:52.52 in the 800m to notch a collegiate-best time. Szwed finished 11th overall. 
  • In the long jump, sophomore Patrick Fehm lept to a new collegiate-best mark of 7.19m. Fehm would go on to place fourth in this event.
 NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: SUNDAY
  • Fehm ended his sophomore campaign on top by winning the high jump with a mark of 2.05m. This mark is just shy of a regional qualifying spot. Fehm concluded the meet with a tenth-place finish in the triple jump recording a best jump of 14.18m.
  • Capping off a stellar senior season, Michael Welde took third in the 400m with a time of 47.57.
  • Senior Kyle Magee led wire to wire to claim gold in the 400m hurdles. Magee notched a collegiate-best time of 52.91.
  • The 4x800m relay of sophomore Owen Moelter, graduate student Stephen McClellan, sophomore Gavin Campbell, and Szwed ran a time of 7:30.08 to place eighth overall.
  • Ending competition for the Hawks, the 4x400m relay grabbed bronze in a time of 3:11.23. The relay was made up of rookie Michael Brittingham, Magee, senior Kris Edobi, and Welde.
