DAVIDSON, N.C. – Othman Bezzaz reached the quarterfinals as the Saint Joseph's men's tennis team took part in the first day of competition at the Atlantic 10 Conference Masters event on Friday at Davidson.
 
The Conference Masters event serves as a qualification opportunity for the ITA Conference Masters tournament, which offers an opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships.
 
Bezzaz had a bye to the Round of 16, where he held off George Mason's Monil Lotlikar, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.  He will face third-seeded Uddayvir Singh of Davidson in the quarterfinals.
 
Ernesto Ruy fell in the Round of 16, while Justus Agbo and Santiago Valle went down in the Round of 16 of the doubles draw.
