WASHINGTON, D.C. – Saint Joseph's graduate student
Katie Cappelletti has been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year, conference officials announced on Wednesday.
In addition, Cappelletti was also named to the A-10 All-Conference First Team, while freshman
Sarah Fisher earned A-10 All-Rookie Team accolades and senior
Lauren Hatt was selected to the A-10 All-Academic Team.
The first Hawk in program history to earn A-10 Goalkeeper of the Year recognition, Cappelletti has been stellar this season as she enters Wednesday's A-10 Championship semifinals with a 9-3-7 record, and leads the conference in saves (98) and save percentage (.875). Currently third in the A-10 in goals against average (.738), Cappelletti was brilliant in conference play, going 4-1-5 with a .800 goals against average and four shutouts. A five-year starter, Cappelletti holds the program record for shutouts (27), saves (422) and ties (22), is second in wins (24) and ranks third in goals against average (1.22) and save percentage (.805).
Making an instant impact, Fisher quickly became one of Saint Joseph's top offensive threats as a freshman. Appearing in 19 matches with 17 starts, Fisher currently is tied for the team lead in points (14) and ranks second in goals (six). The rookie shined during A-10 play as she paced the Hawks with five goals and 11 points.
Starting all 19 matches this season, Hatt has anchored the Hawks' defense that has posted seven shutouts. A four-year letterwinner, the senior accounting major has also excelled in the classroom, earning A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Saint Joseph's Athletic Director's Honor Roll recognition.
The Hawks continue their quest for the 2024 A-10 Championship as they take on top seed Saint Louis on Wednesday evening.
