ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Saturday marked the second day of play for members of the Saint Joseph's men's tennis team at the Navy Invitational.
John Butler and
Matthew Cizmarik earned singles wins, as Butler topped Lucas Hornung of Long Island in straight sets in the Yellow draw while Cizmarik rallied from a set down to top Navy's Zachary Quattro, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, in the Green draw.
Both Hawk doubles pairings split their matches on Saturday, collecting a win and a loss apiece. Cizmarik and
Hector Fullone beat a duo from the tournament hosts, 6-0, but fell to a pair from Bucknell to finish tied atop their group in the White draw. Butler teamed with
Eli Gan-Dy for a 7-6 (8) win over a pairing from Richmond, but succumbed by a 6-4 score to an entry from Navy.
The tournament wraps up on Sunday.
