The Saint Joseph's softball team will compete for 2024 Atlantic 10 title this week as the Hawks earned the sixth seed for the upcoming A-10 Championship. St. Joe's opens conference postseason play on Wednesday as the Hawks take on third seed Loyola Chicago at 2:30 p.m. at Fordham's Bahoshy Softball Complex/Murphy Field.

Atlantic 10 Championship Central

Saint Joseph's wrapped up the regular season on Sunday with an 8-5 victory at UMass to finish with a 14-12 conference record alongside the Minutewomen. UMass earned the higher seed based on head-to-head tie-breaking rules. In Wednesday's first opening round contest, UMass will take on Fordham at noon.

Dayton and Saint Louis earned the first and second seeds, respectively, and first-round byes for the double-elimination tournament. The Fordham/UMass winner will advance to face top-seeded Dayton at noon on Thursday, while either Saint Joseph's or Loyola Chicago will advance to play Saint Louis on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
 
The winners of the two Thursday games will advance to meet in the semifinal, which will be played Friday at noon. The losing teams from the each round will play in the consolation bracket of the double-elimination tournament. The consolation bracket winner will face winner's bracket finalist in the A-10 Championship game Saturday at noon.
