SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team wrapped up its weekend trip to the Midwest with a 4-0 defeat to Notre Dame at the Eck Tennis Pavilion on Sunday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Fighting Irish grabbed the early lead via wins in the top two doubles flights.

• Matthew Cizmarik won the first set in his sixth-flight singles match, and Ernesto Ruy forced a tiebreaker in the first set of the second flight, but the hosts claimed three singles wins to bring about the end of the match.

HAWK TALK
"Today we faced another Power 4 foe," head coach Jeff Puhan said.  "The guys came to battle, and I was proud of them after a long weekend.  Ernesto, Matthew [Cizmarik] and Matthew [Dubas] were all battling before the clinching point.  This weekend was a great learning experience for our team and will ultimately set us up well for later in the season and conference play.  We turn our attention now to Temple."

UP NEXT
The Hawks will host Temple at Springton Tennis Club on Thursday morning.
