PHILADELPHIA – Head Coach Gina McCool of the Saint Joseph's softball team announced the 2025 schedule for the Hawks. St. Joe's has a 54-game slate, highlighted by four early season tournaments and 17 games at the SJU Softball Field including a home series against the defending Atlantic 10 champions.
 
"We are thrilled to announce our 2025 schedule. Team 43, anchored by a strong core of veteran leadership, is focused on preparing for May," said McCool. "The preseason slate, which includes trips to Mercer, Liberty, North Carolina, Maryland and Grand Canyon presents a series of challenges designed to sharpen our competitiveness and composure, ensuring we are prepared for our Atlantic 10 segment. This team is special, not just because of their talent, but for their commitment and belief in one another. We are eager for February and we believe the foundation we've built will carry us through to the very end."
 
The Hawks open play at Mercer at the Heart of Georgia Classic, taking on Austin Peay, Florida A&M and the host Bears, February 7-9. After a weekend without games, SJU travels to Lynchburg, Va. For the Liberty Softball Classic, facing Radford, Charleston Southern and Liberty, Februry 21-23. The following weekend, it's the Mizuno Showdown in Chapel Hill, N.C. that sees the Hawks battle Harvard, North Carolina and Kent State.
 
SJU has its first true road game on March 4 at Maryland before heading out for its final tournament of the early season as it faces New Mexico, Grand Canyon, Utah State and UNLV in the Purple Classic, March 6-8.
 
Returning to the East Coast, the Hawks square off at Delaware on March 12 before the home opener and the start of conference play against UMass, March 15-16. A home date against Villanova on March 19 precedes the first A-10 road series of the season at Loyola, March 22-23. The month ends with four home contests with games against Monmouth (March 26) and Saint Louis (March 29-30).
 
April opens with a trip into West Philadelphia to take on Drexel (April 2) before heading to Rhode Island, April 5-6. St. Joe's is home for a midweek A-10 doubleheader on April 9 against Fordham before returning to the road at George Mason, April 12-13. After a matchup at Penn on April 16, SJU is home for seven in a row as conference series against George Washington (April 18-19) and defending champion Dayton (April 26-27) sandwich a game versus Lehigh on April 23. The regular season ends on the road at St. Bonaventure, May 3-4.
 
The Atlantic 10 Softball Championship takes place May 7-10 at the GW Softball Field in Washington, D.C.
