WASHINGTON – Saint Joseph's graduate student forward
Ava Smith was named the Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.  It is Smith's third such honor of the season.

Smith scored three goals over the weekend.  On Friday, she kicked things off by taking a long pass and firing it home to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead over Davidson late in the first half.  Three minutes into the third quarter, she doubled the lead on a penalty corner to send the Hawks on their way to a key 3-0 Atlantic 10 win over the Wildcats.

On Sunday, the Glasgow, Scotland, native tallied her team-leading 15th goal of the season to extend the Hawks lead in the first quarter against Penn.

The Hawks will wrap up the regular season on Friday with a game against La Salle at Ellen Ryan Field.
