OPENING TIP
Saint Joseph's opened the season 3-0 for the fourth straight season following a 70-65 win over Big 12 member Cincinnati on Tuesday evening in Hagan Arena. SJU is now 20-1 in games in November since the start of the 2022-23 season.

Aleah Snead led the Hawks, finishing 7-of-8 from the floor for a game-high 19 points. Freshman Emily Knouse exploded from range, making five of her nine attempts from distance for a season-high 17 points, while the Hawks found four double-digit scorers for a second consecutive game with 10 points from both Faith Stinson and Gabby Casey.

St. Joe's has registered wins over a Power Five opponent in each of the past four seasons, including Vanderbilt (2022-23), California (2023-24), Syracuse (2024-25) and Cincinnati.

SHARING IS CARING
The Hawks are second nationally with an 80.6% assist rate, assisting on 58 of their 72 field goals through the opening three games of the season.

KNOUSE'S HOUSE
First-year guard Emily Knouse wasted no time introducing herself to the Hawk faithful. Against Cincinnati, Knouse finished with 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting from 3-point range. The five 3-pointers ties for third-most in program history by a freshman, trailing only Angela Zampella (1997-98) and Jen Oyler (2005-06), who each made six in a game. Knouse also added five rebounds and a block against the Bearcats.

ABOUT ST. JOE'S
The Hawks look to replace four players from last year's starting lineup. Only Gabby Casey (33) entered the season having started seven or more games last year. Aleah Snead (6), Rhian Stokes (4) and Kaylie Griffin (1) also made starts in 2024-25.

Saint Joseph's has 15 players on the 2025-26 roster, representing four states and four countries excluding the United States. Amar Mansour (Lebanon) and Emirson Devenie (Australia) are the first Hawks to represent those countries, while Meja Jägerskog (Sweden) and Olivia Lutterodt (Denmark) are each the second player to join the program from their respective countries.

Eight newcomers joined the Hawks over the offseason, four coming by way of the transfer portal while Coach Griffin and company signed four freshmen to the team. Jill Jekot (Penn State), Cecilia Kay (American), Amar Mansour (Missouri Baptist) and Faith Stinson (IU Indy) transferred in to Hawk Hill, while Lutterodt, Kaylinn Bethea, Rian Dotsey and Emily Knouse will all make their debut in 2025-26.

SERIES HISTORY
The Hawks and Nittany Lions meet for the 33rd time. Penn State has won the last 12 games with a 23-9 all-time record against St. Joe's. Sunday's meeting is just the third time under head coach Cindy Griffin that the two programs meet. Penn State is 2-0 in those games.
