PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's junior guard
Aleah Snead was named Big 5 Player of the Week on Monday, the organization announced.
Snead is coming off a 40-point week, helping the Hawks beat Cincinnati before falling in a back-and-forth game with Penn State. The junior averaged 20 points, four rebounds and two assists while shooting at a .682/.800/1.000 clip to earn her first Big 5 weekly honor.
The Philadelphia native opened the week with 19 points on 7-for-8 shooting from the floor, knocking down all five of her free throws as the Hawks defeated a Power Four opponent for the fourth consecutive season with the 70-65 win over Cincinnati. Snead followed up her performance one point shy of her career high, scoring 21 points against Penn State while connecting on a career-high four 3-pointers. She added six rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block against the Nittany Lions.
The Hawks return to action on Thursday, Nov. 20, at Columbia.
