OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Saint Joseph's lefthander
Colton Book was named the College Baseball Foundation's first National Pitcher of the Week for 2025, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Â
Book has gotten off to a tremendous start this season, tossing six shutout innings and allowing one hit while striking out nine as the Hawks shut out Washington, 3-0, on February 15.
Â
The Manheim, Pennsylvania, native took things up a notch a week later, taking a no-hitter into the final frame of a seven-inning game and finishing off the shutout as the Hawks blanked Mount St. Mary's, 7-0. Book finished the day with seven shutout innings, one hit allowed, and 14 strikeouts, one shy of the program record for a single game.
Â
Over the course of his first two starts, Book has thrown an Atlantic 10-leading 13.0 innings and allowed just two hits and two walks to go with a league-best 23 strikeouts.
Â
The Hawks visit Rutgers on Tuesday before heading to Bucknell for a doubleheader on Saturday.
