FAIRFAX, Va. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team fell to George Mason, 4-2, in a rescheduled matchup of conference rivals on Wednesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
•
Matthew Dubas and
Santiago Valle raced out to a 6-1 win in the second doubles flight, but the hosts took wins in the first and third flights to secure the doubles point.
• The Patriots doubled their lead with a win in the number one singles flight before Valle claimed his second win of the day in straight sets in the third flight.
• After George Mason took the sixth flight to extend the lead,
Othman Bezzaz clinched his fifth-flight match in straight sets to make it a 3-2 contest; unfortunately for the Crimson and Gray, the hosts held on for a win in the fourth to clinch the match.
