BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior
Gavin Mogck's third-place individual finish set the pace for seven Hawks finishing inside the top 15 as the Saint Joseph's men's cross country team opened the 2025 season with a first-place finish at the Lehigh Invitational on Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Mogck crossed the line in third, finishing the 6K race in 18:16.2, a tenth of a second off his personal best.
Andrea Botteon was four seconds behind in sixth place.

Michael Glavin blasted his personal best out of the water, shaving more than 30 seconds off his best 6K time with a ninth-place finish in 18:22.2.

Jay Shanahan led a kettle of four Hawks to cross the line within seven and a half seconds of one another. Shanahan's 18:29.2 was good for 12
th, with
Will Rau closing out the scorers in 13
th with a time of 18:34.4.
Ryan Cichocki was just behind in 14
th with a new personal best of 18:35.7, while
Brendan Hefferan's 18:36.5 placed him 15
th; Hefferan also shattered his own personal best by more than 45 seconds.

Matt Hoffman and
Josh Forrest placed inside the top 20 as well, with Hoffman in 17th at 18:39.0 and Forrest less than three seconds behind in 20
th, both in new personal bests.

Ian Romea's 18:43.6 set a new personal best in a 24
th-place finish, while
Jack Bolling turned in a 19:00.9 for 35
th.
Evan McGregor was 40
th with a time of 19:04.8.
• Elijah Stoudt's 19:27.2 pipped teammate
Jackson Kane by a half-second, while
Anthony Gargani posted a 19:33.2 and
Christian Napoli a 20:17.9 to round out the Hawk entries.
NEWS AND NOTES
• The Hawks finished with 43 points on the day, 13 points ahead of second-place Bucknell. Villanova was third with 57; Lehigh came in fourth with 107, Moravian was fifth at 114, and DeSales brought up the rear with 160.
• SJU's scorers turned in an average time of 18:25 to lead the field in that category as well.
• Friday's meet marked the third year in a row that Saint Joseph's topped the Lehigh Invitational Field.
