UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa - The Saint Joseph's men's cross country squad turned in a strong showing at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational, finishing fourth overall at the PSU Cross Country Course on Friday morning.
How it Happened
Michael Glavin turned in the team's best performance of the day, placing 22nd overall with a time of 25:31.5.
Gavin Mogck followed, clocking a 25:45.0 to secure 26th, while
Andrea Botteon was just two seconds behind in 28th with a 25:46.6.
Ryan Cichocki added a 25:58.2 performance for 37th, and
Will Rau closed out the scoring finishes for the Crimson and Gray, running 26:03.4 to place 39th.
Josh Forrest and
Anthony Gargani matched strides with identical times of 26:23.8, while
Jay Shanahan came through just behind in 26:30.3.
Ian Romea produced a 26:37.4 effort, with
Brendan Hefferan adding a 26:55.9.
In his 8K debut,
Jackson Kane recorded a 27:01.6, followed by
Matt Hoffman in 27:08.2.
Evan McGregor was next across in 27:43.8.

Christian Napoli finished in 28:37.2 with Elijah Stoudt rounding out the performances for the Hawks with a 28:37.3.

Syracuse dominated the meet by sweeping the top five sports and securing a perfect score of 15 points. Penn State followed in second with 62 points, while Pittsburgh took third with 97. American tallied 144 to finish fifth. Monmouth was next in sixth with 176 points, followed by Buffalo in seventh with 190. Colgate finished with 208 points to secure eighth place, and Temple rounded out the field with 231.
