HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Members of the Saint Joseph's men's tennis team are taking part in the Hofstra Invitational this weekend, and play got underway on Friday afternoon.
The Hawks put two players through to the singles quarterfinals, as
Ernesto Ruy and
Davi Carlos each won their first two matches in the main draw.
Ruy also reached the quarterfinals on the doubles side as he and
Othman Bezzaz topped a duo from Hofstra.
Bezzaz and
Santiago Valle fell in close matches in the first round of the main draw, but rebounded for consolation victories later in the day.
Play continues through the weekend.
