OPENING TIP
Saint Joseph's looks to return to winning ways after a two-game skid, visiting a Duquesne squad still seeking its first conference win of the season Saturday at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse

The Hawks return to the court following a six-day hiatus after falling to George Mason in their last outing at Hagan Arena. The Patriots remained unbeaten in the Atlantic 10 after fending off a second-half comeback attempt by the Hawks.

Rhian Stokes led the Hawks in scoring for the second straight game, finishing with 15 points, four assists, and four steals against the Patriots. Aleah Snead scored 11 of her 13 points in the first half, while Faith Stinson became the third Hawk to reach double figures with 12 points. Gabby Casey finished one point shy of a third-career double-double, adding 10 rebounds to go along with her nine points.

Saint Joseph's ranks second nationally in assist rate, recording assists on 72.6 percent of its made baskets. Only three teams nationally eclipse the 70 percent mark, with Northwestern leading the country at 73.5 percent.

SHARING IS CARING
St. Joe's began 2026 assisting on 316 of its 435 made baskets in 18 games, assisting on 72.6% of its makes.

Taking care of the ball has been a staple of the Hawk offense over the prior three seasons. St. Joe's has ranked in the top 30 twice in the last three years in assist-turnover ratio while being a mainstay at the top of the leaderboard among Atlantic 10 teams. This season, the Hawks are near the top 30 in both assist/turnover ratio (1.19) and in assists per game (17.6), leading the A-10

CASEY STEPPING UP
Gabby has done a little bit of everything for the Hawks in 2025-26, leading the team in points, rebounds, assists and steals per game. She has scored in double-digits in 15 of her 17 appearances on the year, collected at least five rebounds in 15 games and has tallied three steals in eight games. Casey has led St. Joe's in points and assists eight times, rebounds 10 times, and has led the team in steals in 10 games. She is the only Hawk to have the best plus/minus in a game on more than two occasions, leading the Hawks with four times.

Through 17 games, Casey is one point, 31 rebounds, 18 assists and one steal shy of matching her career high set in 34 games in the 2024-25 season.
