WASHINGTON, D.C. – Saint Joseph's senior goalkeeper Tommy Gross and redshirt freshman Will Barber earned weekly honors from the Atlantic 10 Conference on Monday afternoon, with Gross named Defensive Player of the Week and Barber selected Co-Rookie of the Week.
 
The Hawks secured their second ranked win in as many games behind Gross' standout play in net. The Silver Spring, Md., native totaled 13 saves — including two in the final 15 seconds — to help preserve a 12-11 victory over No. 16 Towson. Over the last two weeks, Gross has recorded 27 saves while adding two caused turnovers and seven ground balls. The honor marks his first of the season and the eighth of his career.
 
Barber continued his strong start to the year, scoring two goals to share Rookie of the Week recognition. The Macungie, Pa., native also contributed two caused turnovers and a ground ball, helping Saint Joseph's take its first lead in the third quarter before holding on for the win. Barber entered the week after a hat trick against then-No. 16 Villanova that earned him his first A-10 accolade.
