Two Golds, Two Silvers Power Men’s Track to Fourth at Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.Cristian Cruz won gold in the 500m and the 4x800m relay squad topped the podium as well as the Saint Joseph's men's track and field team placed fourth at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships.
 
Rhode Island was the runaway champion, with George Mason second and VCU third.
 
TRACK RESULTS
Cruz and Luke Noss went 1-2 in the 500m, with Cruz running a 1:03.87 and Noss claiming second in 1:04.68, fronting a pack of five runners that crossed the line within a half-second.
 
In the 4x800m, Chris Manzo, Elijah Smith, Regent Walden, and Alex Wockenfuss turned in a time of 7:36.65 to take first by .65 seconds and give the Hawks a second gold medal.
 
Benjamin Henry won his first medal of the day in the 200m final, finishing just nine-hundredths off the pace and taking silver with a 21.48.
 
Logan Maloney led off the 4x400m and was followed by Cruz, Henry, and Noss, who each claimed their second podium finish of the Championships with a combined 3:14.32, good for third place.  That finish, along with gold in the 4x800 and bronze in the distance medley relay on Friday, gave Saint Joseph's the distinction of being the only program to medal in all three relays.
 
Elsewhere, Henry and Maloney grabbed points in the 400m as well, finishing fifth and sixth, respectively; Henry notched a 47.76 while Maloney crossed in a personal-best 47.87.  Both Hawks were within .65 of a second of the top spot in a closely contested final.
 
A day after medaling in the DMR, Will Rau placed fourth in the 1000m with a time of 2:26.75.  Matt Hoffman and Noah Deckert scored in the mile, with Hoffman in sixth at 4:15.72 and Deckert eighth in 4:16.15.  Ryan Cichocki was just two-tenths behind in ninth with a 4:16.35, while Brendan Hefferan turned in a 4:18.08.
 
Jerael Moore placed seventh in the 60m, clocking a 7.09, less than a quarter of a second behind the first-place finisher.  Wockenfuss was seventh in the 800m final as well, running a 1:51.99.  Michael Glavin led a group of three Hawks in the 3000m, finishing seventh in 8:25.17.  Ian Romea topped his heat with a personal-best 8:36.74, and Eli Stoudt ran the race in 8:55.58.
