WASHINGTON — The Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team secured the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic 10 Betterment Men's Lacrosse Championship and will face No. 2 seed High Point in the semifinals on Thursday, April 30.
Richmond claimed the No. 1 overall seed after defeating High Point on the final day of the regular season, handing the Panthers their first conference loss.
A three-team tiebreaker between Saint Joseph's, Massachusetts and Delaware — all of whom finished 3-3 in conference play — determined the remaining seeds. The deadlock was broken by goals allowed in head-to-head competition, with the Hawks earning the No. 3 seed and UMass taking No. 4.
Saint Joseph's (6-5) will play in the second semifinal at 7 p.m. against High Point. The Hawks are led offensively by
Ben Dutton, who has a team-high 33 points and 30 goals, while
Collin Campbell and
Griffin Mallory have each added 31 points.
The semifinal winners will meet in the championship game on Saturday at noon. The tournament champion will earn the Atlantic 10's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Tickets for the championship are available through Richmond's ticket office. All games of the Atlantic 10 Men's Lacrosse Championship will be streamed on ESPN+. For more information, visit Championship Central at Atlantic10.com
