Box Score

PHILADELPHIA - In a near repeat of its victory over Drexel on Wednesday, the Saint Joseph's field hockey team tallied three times in the opening 13 minutes and cruised past Longwood, 3-0, on Finnesey Field. Sophomores Lauren Luft and Nicole Antonini and junior Hilary Moody tallied for the Hawks, who posted their third consecutive shutout.

The Crimson and Gray jumped on top right away as the high-scoring tandem of Luft and Antonini teamed up for the first goal just 3:30 into the game. Antonini tapped a ball across the circle to Luft who banged it home.

Antonini made it 2-0 six minutes later. Sophomore Maureen Casserly drove toward the goal and drew a couple of defenders. She then flicked a pass to Antonini who knocked the ball into the cage. Antonini leads the team with eight goals, eight assists and 24 points. The assist and point totals are each tied for tenth on the Hawk single season list.

Moody closed out the scoring for St. Joe's scoring on a direct corner at the 22:13 mark of the opening half. Antonini and Senior Shannon Scott collected the assists.

SJU put it in cruise control the rest of the way.

Freshman goalkeeper Rebecca Cunfer didn't have to make a single save while posting her third straight shutout and fourth overall. She extended her string of of scoreless minutes to 236:40. LU netminder Julie Patterson finished with six saves.
