EASTON, PA (4/20/02) - Second and third place finishes gave the Saint Joseph's women's track team a strong showing at the Lafayette Invitational this past weekend. The Crimson and Gray competed against teams from Princeton, Rutgers, Kutztown and host Lafayette.
Sophomore
Amy Manwaring placed second in the 3000 meter event with a time of 10:20.59 while newcomer Colleen Flanagan finished at the heels of Manwaring for a third place finish.
Karen Weber also fared well for the Hawks in the 5000 with a time of 18:18.32, good for second place. In the long jump, sophomore
Erin Blaustein finished third with a leap of 5.21 meters
Maisha Tyler anchored the school record breaking 4x100 relay team with a time fo 48.53 seconds. That record has been broken for three consecutive weeks by the same runners including
Brooke Gilliford,
Colleen Ladden and
Mary Korfmacher.
The Hawks next compete on Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27 at the prestigious Penn Relays.
