NEWARK, DE (02/02/02) - The Saint Joseph's women's track team competed at the Delaware Invitational over the weekend. The meet included squads from Monmouth, Norfolk, Towson, UMBC, Villanova as well as the host Blue Hens.
Freshman Colleen Flanagan led the Hawks with a first place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:25.47. It was the rookie's first victory of her collegiate career.
Senior
Bernadette Speer finished strong for the Hawks in the high jump (1.63 meters) while sophomore
Mary Crossin was impressive in the 1000 meter (3:22.18). Both won their events, respectively.
Junior
Maisha Tyler placed third in the long jump (5.36 meters) while finishing eigth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.90
The Hawks next compete on Friday, February 8, at the Armory Invitational.
