EASTON, PA (12/01/01)- After an exciting cross country season came to an end, the Saint Joseph's women's track team went inside to open their 2001-02 track season at the Lafayette Invitational. At the six-team event held at the Allan P. Kirby sports center, the SJU women posted some fine performances.
Co-captain
Brooke Gilliford led the way for the Hawks, winning both the 60 (7. 36) and 220 (26.8) yard events, while junior
Maisha Tyler placed second in the long jump with a jump of 5.19.
Junior
Sarah Conway placed third in the mile (5:23.3) while senior co-captain
Mary Korfmacher placed third in the 440 (61.1). Freshman
Kelly Victory also fared well for the Hawks placing third in the 880 yard event with a time of 2:28.1.
The Hawks compete on Saturday, December 8, at Princeton.
