Mike DiDio finished the mile in a time of 4:09.01 to take first place and earn 10 points for the Hawks who finished seventh out of 14 teams with 50 points. Saint Joseph's had five runners finish in the top three places for the day.
Saint Joseph's second meet of the indoor season, in which DiDio only competed in the mile, the meet marked DiDio's first race for the season.
Other stand out performances came from seniors Matt Petrocci and Andrew Thomas and sophomore William Rowland. Petrocci placed second in the 800m with a time of 1:57.83 and Thomas placed third in the 500m with a time of 1:03.55. Rowland placed third in the 3,000m with a time of 8:40.13.
Sophomore Bobby Staten also performed well with a time of 7.00 in the 60m. Freshmen Tom Katan, Brendan Kearney, and Justin Heinze showed good promise in their performances through out the meet.
Rider took first place overall with 126 points with Seton Hall(91) and Rutgers(90) taking second and third.
The Hawks return to competition Saturday January 14th at the Penn State Relays.
