PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team kept its hopes alive for the Atlantic 10 Championship next weekend thanks in part to senior forward Ali Wean. Wean tallied her first collegiate hat trick and added an assist as the Hawks topped the Bonnies 4-1 Friday evening at Finnesey Field.

The Bonnies opened the scoring with a goal in the seventh minute on a goal by Jessica Bartock. Kelly Gregory won a 50/50 ball in the midfield and played it up the middle to forward Kerry O'Malley. O'Malley turned and found a streaking Bartock up the right side, who took the pass and sent a shot to the top right of the goal from 15 yards out to put SBU up 1-0.

From there, it was all Saint Joseph's.

The Hawks tied the game at 17:53 as Wean's direct kick was deflected off a St. Bonaventure defender and past SBU's goalkeeper, Lisa Eberhart, at 17:53.

Saint Joseph's opened a 2-1 lead less than 10 minutes later as Wean found an open Shannon Osborn, who tucked the ball into the bottom left corner of the goal from 18 yards out at 27:23.

Leading by one, Wean put the Hawks up 3-1 at 75:23 on a penalty kick. The ball was deep inside the Bonnies' box, when a St. Bonaventure player touched the ball with her hand, leading to the penalty chance.

Wean collected the hat trick in the 81st minute as her corner kick curved to the top of the near post to cap the Hawks' 4-1 win.

For the game, SJU out shot the Bonnies 19-6, and held a 7-3 edge in corners.

Individually, freshman goalkeeper Megan Bastanelli made three saves for the win, as Wean collected seven points on the evening.

For St. Bonaventure, Eberhart made eight saves in the loss.

With the victory, the Hawks improve to 7-10 on the year and 4-4 in Atlantic 10 play. St. Bonaventure falls to 2-14-1 on the year and 1-7 in the A-10.

Saint Joseph's caps its regular season at home Sunday versus Fordham at 1 p.m.
